Anguilla

In November 21019, my cousin, who should have a blog of her own, got married in Anguilla!! We have an extremely large extended family, and the thought of feeding the multitudes on my 2 fish and 5 loaves budget has always had me running for the hills. But, this chic destination wedding had me seeing the possibilities…

My cousin and my new cuz-in-law got married over a holiday weekend, so I only took ONE day off for this mini vacation. Zemi Beach House was the perfect venue for the wedding party and guests alike. Zemi is an all inclusive resort and spa that has made the Conde Nast hot list for three years running.

The Food Was <3

There was no shortage of adventure on this small island. My cousin made sure to keep guests active and entertained while still allowing us time to explore and relax on our own. My favorite excursion of the weekend was the catamaran cruise. We visited the Prickly Pear Cays, did some snorkeling, and some of the braver guests cliff dived.

The views were so beautiful that I forgot to take my dramamine until an hour into the trip. By the time we arrived at one of the smaller cays for a local lunch, I was kissing the ground.

Overall the trip was amazing. But the wedding itself, was the icing on the cake. Dancing with my dad and grandpa, eating grilled lobster under the stars, and sneaking drinks like a teenager on an exotic getaway was just what I needed to get me through to the New Year. Little did I know that 2020 would be the longest year EVER. I haven’t left the country in 334 days. Right now, I am thanking God for the memories…
